Change Management - Executive Coaching

Background:
This case is about an individual who has worked in the IT Professional Services sector for her entire working career. Having worked for a number of large ERP solution vendors in a variety of countries she was becoming restless and questioning where her career was heading. She had just had her CV/resume re-written with a company who also offered Executive Coaching. She felt that she wasn't 'getting anywhere' in her work but when speaking to the coaching staff she didn't gel with them personally. It was then that she found Unlike Before and began working with Deanne.

Problem:
Our client was looking to change company but wasn't finding positions that felt a good fit, that were satisfying, and where she could do what she wanted to do. This was also carrying over into her personal life and her reality was one of 'same old, same old'. She felt pigeon holed into the same position every time she changed company when what she really wanted was something different. There was no fun to be had anywhere.

Solution:
By committing to a 6 month Executive Coaching partnership with Unlike Before our client was also making a commitment to herself. The coaching partnership involved us meeting on a weekly basis for one hour. We worked together discovering what she really wanted to be doing constantly challenging her status quo and self-beliefs, while all the time encouraging her to set boundaries where she could specifically focus on nurturing herself. We requested that she look internally and externally so as to benefit fully from the partnership.

Our client has now given herself permission to dream and to know that she can turn those dreams into goals and actually reach those goals. She is more positive about life, where she is now and where she wants to be. She continues to focus on not taking 'ownership' of everyone else's problems and making them her own even though she remains willing and able to help. She feels for the first time in a long time she is still growing, learning and enjoying instead of slogging.
